This service includes all of the steps covered by our
Managed Service, in a condensed package:
- There is no commitment to a repeat scan
- It can be tailored to look at only a specific part
of your organisation, where there is reason for concern
There are two reasons for
requesting this type of service.
The first is in response to an identified problem,
where a solution is needed fast. For example, Audit may have picked up an
unauthorised modem compromising a business-critical machine. In this case you
need a rapid response to determine the extent of the current problem. Any
longer term requirements can be addressed at a later date.
The second reason is to give you some of the answers
that you need to be able to make decisions based on facts rather than
- how many systems are exposed to dial-in
- how many of these systems have authorised
- how many of these systems fulfill key roles?
- how effective has any security policy been?
Acting on the Outcome:
How you take it
from there is up to you.
You may decide that although some issues have come to
light, there are other higher priorities within your organisation that you need
to address first. The Xiscan audit will have identified the 'low-hanging
fruit', and the bigger picture can always be addressed later.
Equally, you may see that the benefits merit
committing to a fully Managed Service . Or else,
you may feel that with immediate time pressures removed,
licensing Xiscan for use by your own staff is the
best course of action.
